Stars include Ryan O’Neal, struggling lawyer who literally stumbles into directing; Burt Reynolds, roustabout who becomes a leading man; Tatum O’Neal, enterprising California country girl who makes money renting things to the fledgling production units sent here to escape the goon squads of the Motion Picture Patents Co trust; Brian Keith, composite pioneer mogul; and Stella Stevens as an early leading lady.

The O’Neals, Reynolds, Keith and Stevens all engage interest, attention and affection.
